Last week in Part 1 we introduced the first 3 Core Values of Willow Legal Group: Families First, Be A Part of the Community, and a Commitment to Well-Being. You can learn a lot about the businesses you work with by understanding their core values. Core values are the deeply ingrained principles that guide a company’s actions and serve as the cultural cornerstone of the company. These values guide our firm and how we interact with each other, our clients and our community. In Part 2, below, we will dive into the second set of Willow Legal Group’s Core Values and what they mean to each of us.
Leading With Humanity and Kindness
As estate planning attorneys we help our clients make plans for difficult situations. We aim to show compassion and understanding to our clients and their families as they navigate the path of planning or needing to work with a plan that is already in place. As each person and family are unique, we personalize our attention and planning to meet their unique needs. Additionally, our team serves as a resource to our clients and their families to make the estate planning, probate and trust administration processes as easy as possible.
“When people need to meet with a lawyer, it’s often because they are going through a very personal and stressful time. The last thing they need is to feel uncomfortable or anxious during the process. That’s why we believe it’s so important to treat people with kindness and respect, and without judgment or criticism.”
– Lindsay
“Leading with humanity and kindness requires empathy. To best serve our clients we need to be able to stand in their shoes and see the world from their perspective.”
– Megan
Speak With Candor
Communication is key to all of our relationships. We are committed to open and honest communications and we work to set clear expectations for our clients and staff. This is one of the reasons we work on a flat-fee basis as much as possible. We want to ensure that our clients feel comfortable reaching out and asking questions without worrying about an invoice coming in a few weeks later.
“In order for us to best serve our clients we need full transparency into their lives and they should expect us to present them with all available planning options. Also, if there is a situation in which we are not meeting client expectations we want to know that so we can address it within the firm.”
– Megan
“The key to any successful relationship is good communication. I personally don’t like when people lie to me or are insincere, so I am up front and honest with the people in my life. I believe that setting expectations in any relationship helps avoid miscommunication and misunderstanding. This is especially true with attorney-client relationships, which is why we encourage clients to be open and honest with us.”
– Lindsay
A Warm Welcome
We are not your typical stuffy law firm. Most days you’ll find our team in jeans or something similar and you will only find us in a suit if we are in court. We love the work we do and have fun working as a team and with our clients. We want our clients to feel comfortable with us and we make a conscious priority to create a welcoming environment for everyone.
“I’ve never felt comfortable wearing a suit or sitting in a stuffy office filled with old law books, which is why I want our office to feel more like a home than an office. Our goal is to create an environment that is warm and inviting.”
– Lindsay
“We want clients and staff to feel comfortable in our space – as if we were meeting them in their homes. In addition, I love helping families plan for their loved ones and I hope that enjoyment and warmth makes clients feel like they and their families are well cared for.”
– Megan
